Word. I know the feeling, I guess I just have my perspective in a different place. Slightly less “big picture”. That’s cool though.

I think the quote is pretty dark and detached. Maybe it speaks the truth, but in any case, totally indicative of some extreme existentialism or nihilism on Ms. Plath’s part. When I first read it, I think I saw it as “everything people did seemed so silly, only because they died in the end”, which I think conveys a completely different meaning. But as for what the quote was actually trying to communicate, I think you hit the nail on the head.
